Investigate Bitcoin transactions
with forensic precision.
Trace fund flows, detect mixing patterns, score risk, and cluster addresses — with real blockchain data. New to forensics? Our guided Academy builds your skills step by step.

How it works
Trace & Build
Start from any address or transaction. Trace fund flows through interactive graph visualization, then save what you find into a dataset — building your investigation as you go.
Analyze
Run 22 forensic modules on your dataset: peel chain detection, CoinJoin analysis, wallet fingerprinting, risk scoring across 6 dimensions, and entity attribution. You can also upload your own datasets directly for immediate heuristic analysis.
Learn
Apply your tools to real case studies in the Academy. Each case builds complexity — from basic tracing to entity attribution.
Who this is for
Security investigators
Professional analysis tools alongside step-by-step methodology documentation. Trace, analyze, and report with academic rigor.
Compliance analysts
Understand on-chain risk with OFAC/SDN screening, address clustering, and investigation reports. Learn the tools and methodology behind transaction monitoring.
Students & researchers
Build forensics skills with guided learning paths and real-world case studies. Go from zero to competent with structured, progressive investigations.
Methodology
All analysis results are generated by probabilistic heuristics, not deterministic facts. Risk scores are indicators that require human verification — they are not compliance determinations.
Sanctions screening uses publicly available OFAC/SDN data and community-sourced attribution from open repositories. Entity labels carry a confidence rating (confirmed, high, medium) that reflects their source reliability. Trailbit is not a licensed compliance tool — results should be independently verified before any regulatory submission.
Every heuristic is documented, every analysis run is logged, and every score can be traced back to the rules that produced it. We show our work so you can show yours.
